You’ve seen the video, yes? Well, Janina in Bavaria, Germany sent me this Flickr pic that she took on a trip to NYC in 2005…surely it’s the same pair! It’s a small world afterall!

FINALLY! Finished up with my taxes. Actually, they’ve been finished a long while, I just hadn’t mailed them. This is true of a lot of things. I’m embarrassed to report how many times my cable has been shut of because the check is languishing in the bottom of my bag. I’m not very motivated when it comes to paying bills. Not proud of it, just really not as concerned as I ought to be.
And I’m mad that the IRS ended up with some of my cutest postage stamps.

An amazing collection of artwork is available at the 2nd annual BAMart Silent Auction. If you’re in NYC, go view the works and bid live and up close. If not, check them out and bid online! A wide range of art in a wide range of prices. I’m partial to this guy’s work, but my opinion is a little biased: he makes me laugh and frequently walks my dog. Hey–I don’t know much about art, but I did get a B- in Art History 101, a B+ in Modern Art 201, and a B in Modern Architecture during “College: The Early Years”. And I know what I like!

New York City, although it has been pissing me off lately, is still one fabulous town. Come share some distinctly NYC activities: A perfect Spring day in Central Park. Counting used condoms in The Lake. Meat-on-a-stick (my boyfriend calls them “steak tips” but really, any meat-on-a-stick that’s $2 probably doesn’t fit into the “steak” category. I won’t eat it). The view from the N train as it glides over the Manhattan Bridge. A night at the 2006 Brooklyn Underground Film Festival, which was super cool.

Overheard on the Labor & Delivery Unit, 4/17/06 Overnight Tour
Patient’s Boyfriend With Limited English Skills: Where comes from things my wife need to go to bathroom?
Nurse’s Aide: (taking a “logic leap” and bring the man a pack of Kotex, this being a labor and delivery floor, and all) Here you go…they’re called “pads”.
PBWLES: (looking confused) No. (pointing to his feet) Socks!
Moral of the story: Sometimes “going to the bathroom” literally means “walking to the bathroom”.
