I have no idea what’s happened to me. I used to lead a fast and almost semi-glamourous life here in NYC. High heels. Cocktails. Late nights. Now all I want to do is get back to New Orleans and finish polyurethaning the floors.
Does this mean I’m all grown up? I don’t know how I feel about that.
This is one from the vaults. I’m still playing around with the new camera and since I’m working the next four nights I doubt I’ll be able to edit and post any of it–especially with this rotten cold abrewin’. There’s this resident at work who has been sick and she does this thing where she sneezes into the open air, or whatever else is in front of her: the computer, the patient charts, me. She says doesn’t sneeze into her hands because she needs to keep them as clean as possible. Umm…oookkaaaayy. So she’s ignoring the advent of both soap AND Purell, AND she didn’t take my suggestion that she turn and sneeze into her shoulder, an old trick I learned back in my ice-cream scooping days. So she just hurls her germs in all directions, prompting one of the other nurses to follow her with a paper towel and a bottle of Mixed Berry Mistolin. It’s nasty and now the whole ward smells like Jolly Ranchers.
Have a very happy, Happy Easter and Passover. I’ll miss this holiday weekend, but Orthodox Easter the Big One in my neighborhood anyways, so I’ll enjoy that when it rolls around.

You’re settling in, instead of just running around being wild. I think it’s called cooling down. Absolutely nothing wrong about fixing your nest.

Have a Happy Easter, regardless, and I hope you have some time to relax after all this working.
I can’t belive that woman is wokring in healthcare; this would drive me crazy! I would be dropping cases of Purell into her purse.

Life is funny that is for sure……never had a “semi-glamourous” life myself…….at least I don’t think so but actually I am having more fun now than I ever have……..running around can be fun but enjoying someone AND runing around……now that is fun!!

The house looks great so far and I love the sink! I think taking on a project such as your’s is anything but normal. It’s a lot of hard work! Most people just hire others to do it for them or buy a new house. I admire your dedication to rebuilding the house.
I’m thinking of redesigning my living area too. Maybe I’ll vlog it too. Hmmm…
Well, anyway, I thought the fireplace bit was very funny. My cat used to poo in the most inconvenient places too. Ugh!
Happy Easter to you too! Have a great weekend!
Aloha nui,

Gross. Who doesn’t know about the sneeze into the shoulder bit? Or take it when it’s suggested? There is something comforting about the shoulder sneeze anyway. Makes the tingle less tingly and the violence less…violent.
Okay, here’s how I knew I was a grown-up. The dryer cratered. I went to Best Buy to get a new one and discovered appliance lust. All of those shiny, stainless steel fridges and low energy washers…Then once installed, I actually stayed up an hour late just to enjoy a load of laundry. Remember when you’d wear things several times in a row, items had varying degrees of cleanliness and anything you wore came out of the rumpled pile on a chair that you never even considered folding?
Grown-up. I think polyurethane falls into that category. Sorry, dear. At least you’re looks are holding up, judging from that gorgeous pic at the wedding.
Happy Easter! (Or Orthodox Easter, as the case may be.)

I can’t even tell you how much I love the cat story. How is it that all vloggers seem to have cats? Well anyway, good luck with the new place. It looks great!

I’m ready to be done with work and be lazy again, oh sweet irony.
Haha, so busy as it gets down to finals time… in fact, I should be studying for a calculus II test right now.
