or here for good ol’ Quicktime.
Surely I’m not the only person freaked out by this East Coast weather. Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful day…but, still…it’s just too, too weird.

you know, as i was driving the 4 blocks to the grocery store in my Hummer i figured I probably shouldn’t have left the lawn mower idling til I got back. then i ran our air conditioner for a while, you know, just cuz the place was a little stuffy and the windows are stiff. after that, i thought i would take a drive around for a while, just to clear my head. was that bad for the environment?

Maybe.

Great - weird weather post
This is a hot debate and I glad Casey started the ball rolling … yes there are some benefits to global warming and we may not all be affected, but terrible things will happen to millions of people if we - the conscious few do nothing.

I do not completely agree with you and this new environment mania, everybody thinks that the nature is so simple, never thought about complex systems and caos, this year is warn the previous was extra cold maybe the next one normal (if someone is able to explain what’s normal for weather)
People is not God, nature can not be changed she always wins, and we have not the power to destroy it (fortunately) and neither to change it (we are not God).
Hope that my english is understandable.

winter in chicago has been really warm too. we haven’t hit the 70s, but we have hit the upper 50s many times. the current report is that this will be the warmest chicago winter since records have been kept about such things. yikes!
:: begin soapbox rant ::
i strongly disagree with the notion that we have no ability to change the situation. we, and the many generations before us, have contributed to this mess, and while we’re still here we can make conscious choices in our behavior to reduce the negative impact that each one of has on the environment. since i have nieces and nephews, i think it’s my responsibility to leave things better than i found it for the generations that follow, so i don’t accept that we can’t change things.

sorry for the rant on your blog, bekah. what can i say, i’m an activist

yeah, it’s global warming. I’m not complaining cause I like hot weather, but I don’t want the polar ice caps to melt or have a super hot summer..
I mean if we really want to fix it we can we have the technology to switch to cleaner fuels and they should make solar panels cheaper and available to everyone so they can put it on their roof top. Just imagine how much you can save if they made solar panel cheaper. We can do it, but we are waiting for a disaster as usual.

It’s weird because I just came back from California and it’s freakin’ 32 degrees at night!!! Aaaaaah! I’m so not used to that weather, and I thought to myself “Am I in Chicago or something?”
Anyway, it’s around 75-82 around here. Just riiiiight!!! I’m sorry that it’s warm over there when it should be snowing. that is strange, but I think nature has it’s quirks every once in awhile. It did snow once in Hawaii back in the early 1900s. Maybe it’s just that one warm winter in New York and it will be cold next year. Who knows?
Oh well, sorry for not commenting for awhile. I’m gonna try to get back in to vlogging and rearrange my schedule a bit. Look forward to more comments from me!!!

It was el Nino. I say was because it has now weakened and the cold weather is on the way!…

Well…. one man’s garbage is another man’s lunch. Something has to be done, indeed (seems even Bush is now starting to feel this way??). But places like Montreal might now become a lot more livable during the winters. ‘Course, that happiness will vanish if the St. Lawrence River floods the city…
