It’s September so you know what that means: it’s “Back-to-School” time! Crisp air, cozy sweaters, falling leaves, clean loose leaf paper (200 to a pack) in shiny Trapper Keepers. September is so full of promise and hope for a better tomorrow, almost like New Year’s Eve, but with a side helping of academic pressure.
Remember little Pixie? Well she’s 3 1/2 months old now, practically in college. I felt it was time to give her her first lesson on consumer electronics, starting with Treos and various Apple products (she comes from a Windows family–someone has to show her The Way). I swear she says the word “iPod”. Watch for yourself and see. Her first word is iPod.
Her Mom let me know that any random crying episodes (few and far between) that couldn’t be solved with milk or a new diaper could likely be solved with a few rounds of “Old MacDonald”. My own special version of Old MacDonald pretty much knocked her out. Twice: once intentionally, and the other time not so much. It could be that she’d rather be asleep than hear me sing, or it may be that Windows is in her blood and she cannot be swayed…
…but it won’t stop me from trying.

Why don’t you host your website through dot Mac? It is cost? Or do you like the features of Wordpress combined with a different web host?
I didn’t realize you were creating your vlogs with a vintage Mac (or are you using a newer Mac?). Don’t worry. My Mac is vintage as well. I upgraded to the iLife ‘08 and realized I would not able to install iMove ‘08 because my Mac is vintage! Oh well, iMovie ‘06 has more transitions and title effects anyway.
The baby is absolutely adorable. I still don’t want kids though.

Hi, Shavonne!
For the record, the Pismo belongs to my fiancee. He is so attached to it. It never crashes, is solid as a rock, and for reasons neither of us can figure out he can pick up an Airport signal from across the yard while my G4 Powerbook can’t make it two feet past the patio border. The Pismo is a beautiful mystery.
This videoblog used to live at Blogger; I only just recently made the switch to WP, which I completely love. I had a .mac account when I first got the computer but never really used it other than to store the occasional photo, which is why in early videos the pictures come up missing.
I was SO disappointed (and ticked off) when I realised I couldn’t use the new iMovie. But after some friends describing their negative experiences with it, I’m okay with the old one.
Isn’t she insanely cute!? I love her to pieces but I still don’t really want kids, either.

I know why the Pismo picks up your Airport signal and your PowerBook doesn’t. It’s because it’s plastic. The signal gets through the plastic better than the metal on your PowerBook. The iMacs get better wireless reception for the same reason. I don’t care. I love my PowerBook!

@cheryl Aha! Plastics! I hear that the in the future everything will be made out of plastic!
I love my PB, but I wouldn’t have snubbed my nose a a plastic casing if it meant I’d get a better signal!

That was the best apple rant ever.
Love the way she is trying to stay awake and sleep at the same time (have two kids so i’m far from objective).

I would be singing Jimmy Crack Corn! Available in iTunes. I just loved my Pismo, but a coworker paid me $350 fully loaded for it. I bought a WallStreet for $70 just to have my Sex and the City model again.

I think I was slightly crying when Pixie said “iPod”. Babies make me all teary eyed with happiness. Actually, lot of things do, it’s embarrassing.
It seemed to me that she was trying really hard to stay awake to hear your whole song.

Hi, MissB. Is mine a name that you remember? (Think back… Way, WAY back…) Too cute to see you again after all these years crooning to a baby. (At least it’s not The Time Warp. LOL)
Drop me a line if you want to get back in touch.

Entirely too cute, even with the indoctrination of an innocent to Apple, not PCs. Absolutely loved it.

Thanks for being a most excellent, singing babysitter to Pixie. She justs gets cuter and cuter. I was Pixie’s mom’s babysitter!
