NaVloPoMo-a-GoGo 11: comic books

November 11, 2007 | Filed under: NaVloPloMo 2007, loves

I’ve been awake for 30 hours. I figured I’d clean up the house a bit before crashing, but then I stumbled upon some half-buried treasure!

Why sleep when you can go through some of your comics collection and vlog about it at the same time?

Some great series’ mentioned here:

Strangers in Paradise

Watchmen  (soon to be a movie? I’ll be the judge of that.)

Miracleman

Marvels (did I mention that mine is autographed?)

The Tale of One Bad Rat

The Invisibles

OMG! I am a huge comics geek too! *squee*

I just read Watchmen a month ago…it is the shit. Also bought up to TBP#5 of Promethea, but haven’t read all of it yet. My faves are more DC and Image…Sandman, Transmetropolitan, Kabuki….have you read any of these? Maybe I will do a comics/books-I-love post too! Oh yes, and Calvin and Hobbes. :-)

Chroma- Moore’s Miracleman is just the bestest, most under-read stuff. So intense!

Heath- I know, I know! I know Watchmen was DC. Pretty much all the bleak, dark, fun stuff is. But Marvel is where the Superhero action LIVES, buddy!

Lauren, I loved Transmetropolitan, but only read the first year or so, then I had to quite comics because i was spending too much money on them!

    YOU! are. ADORABLE!!! MarvelGirl!!

It’s fun for me because it’s fun for you.

The only comics I ever read? That would be the Sandman & Hellblazer series from Vertigo. So I only kinda know what you mean, but at least I know a little.

I will have to check out your list!

Marvel person here too. Never liked DC stuff. Marvel always seemed to push the limits with the art.

Never been a comics boy. But I could watch you talk for hours about pretty much anything, I think. And I love that love comics. This video should be played to everybody who ever says that comics are for boys.
Also, I love that you’re so energised by the discovery that you don’t seem even vaguely tired.
