NaVloPoMo-a-GoGo 16: groundhog day

November 16, 2007 | Filed under: NaVloPloMo 2007, country mouse

Cop-out day! This is a video I shot in June. I was wondering where to plant the stuff I ordered but had no idea where the existing plants were in the garden anymore. Cheryl suggested that I must have video of the yard someplace, and she was right!

I had never gotten around to posting this for whatever reason. But here it is: the yard in Summertime in all its glory and all its critters.

I can’t see enough of the critter to be sure, but my guess is it is a groundhog. You know, like Phil. Anyway, if you cornered him he might bite. The thing you’ve got to be careful about are the holes they dig. They are big enough, deep enough, that you can be walking along and step in one and go all the way down to the top of your leg. Pretty freaky thing. They are very dangerous for horses, because of the holes. Just keep your eyes open where you’re walking.

Okay, it’s Friday night. I’ve been making nice at an opening at my gallery all evening. I came home, exhausted, decided to check out your newest video. Now, upon reviewing the list of recent posts, I notice that the title is groundhog day. Duh! I feel like a dork. My newest plan is to vanish into the night and hope this all was just a bad, bad dream.

Oh, he was a pretty cute groundhog. LOVE your flowers - so gorgeous. Something to look forward to for sure! My mother-in-law’s house was like that. Wow.

The big flowers you didn’t know were Peonies, which I’m sure you already know by now. I hope you didn’t take those bushes out. They’re my favorite!
