Apparently, it’s genetic. My family has a cellular desire to broadcast themselves. My sister’s cable access TV show gets streamed on the internet, and I finally got to tune in. It’s a gas.Maybe we should do a show together?

Our Dad is Richie Havens. Sometimes.
And I am the wild sister on the lunatic fringe…
Bek…. I can’t believe I didn’t know you had this up!
You and I must get in the same room pleeze, now that you live in the hinterlands too…
If people want to watch the show, (mine) it’s called “Bustling the Hedgerow” and it is streaming live from Woodstock on woodstocktv.org on Monday Nights at ten pm eastern time……

@Leslie
You know, it’s funny: A friend had JUST said they had noticed I never mentioned my Dad on site before. Then this happened.
I guess it just never came up!

Either you’ll laugh at this or you won’t, but I’m laughing. One of my friends is a local musician, and she got totally hooked on my vlogging during NaVloPoMo - came to the site every day and watched. When I made a video about No Knead Bread, she followed my link to your site and instantly got hooked on you, too. I think she checks your site every day. She just wrote me this email (which I find adorably cute):

yes, you should do a show together. i’m too young and foreign to understand who your dad really is, though i did look him up. to that i say,..well duh. it runs in the blood. also, you and your sister sound a bit alike. reminds me of my own little sissy and myself. awesome.

Hey all… Just came by, and noticed the comment I left earlier on this post.
And I wanted to clarify…
When I said that our dad was our dad “sometimes,” I meant “sometimes” in the way that sometimes “Richie Havens” is my dad, and sometimes my dad is just my dad, and I am just me.
I grew up in Woodstock, and I have been known as someone’s daughter all my life.
So many people want to engage me in conversation simply because I am Richie’s daughter, but I am a musician, an artist, comedienne etc… with a host of talents and coincidentally, I am Richie Haven’s daughter.
Sometimes…. I keep it to myself.
And sometimes… I let people know.
So if anyone wonders what I meant by “sometimes,”
That is what I meant.
As I read down the comments, I noticed my sister displayed a similar feeling.
Sometimes we just keep it to ourselves.
Lately though, I am less inclined to deny my roots and just allow that title to be a part of me more than ever before…
I have always found name-dropping distasteful…
So even when it is my own name I only drop it sometimes…
It is an interesting thing being someone’s daughter…

Very cool. I most certainly did not have to look up Richie Havens. But right now it is Miss B. I am a fan of. Another morning and 2 cups of coffee spent entirely on Miss B. and in the internets.
