NaVloPoMo-a-GoGo day 29: failure

November 29, 2007 | Filed under: NaVloPloMo 2007, Grrr...arrgh.

This was supposed to be a wholly different post. But it’s not, because I suck.

I swear I’m not an unsafe driver compared to the idiots out there.  I just didn’t pass.

NaVloPoMo-a-GoGo 24: laziest

November 25, 2007 | Filed under: NaVloPloMo 2007, loves

Delays, delays. Excuses, excuses. I should never wait until the very last minute before heading off to work to post a video because one little glitch, and poof! No post.

Here’s a little post-Thanksgiving lovey moment.

NaVloPoMo-a-GoGo 23: the morning after

November 23, 2007 | Filed under: NaVloPloMo 2007, Holiday! Celebrate!, good eatin'

Another Thanksgiving Day has passed us by. With all those friends, loved ones and food, one day is not enough! I think Thanksgiving should be a week-long national holiday (but with the banks open. And also the Post Office).

‘Round our house, Thanksgiving lasts until the last scrap of turkey is gone.

NaVloPoMo-a-GoGo 21: ’twas the nite

November 21, 2007 | Filed under: NaVloPloMo 2007, oddball, Holiday! Celebrate!

It’s that time of year again, when all the good boys and girls lie awake wishing and waiting and wondering: what will The Eyeglass Fairy leave on my kitchen counter today?

What? Oh. Maybe that’s just us.

One of my favorite things about small-town rural life is that you can go to the store, come back, and find strange unmarked gifts in your house. This is what happens when you live someplace where no one locks their doors. I freakin’ love it.

It didn’t take us long to figure out where they came from. The man has a killer collection, and upstate NY is really no place for a man to be wearing big vintage sunglasses…or is it…

NaVloPoMo-a-GoGo 20: bored, now.

November 20, 2007 | Filed under: NaVloPloMo 2007, hello, nurse!, misadventures

I made this ages ago during a dry spell at work, then didn’t post it because I got worried after a class I took on labor nursing and legal stuff. But I must press on. I have to post something. The power of NaVlaPoMo compels me.

Labor & Delivery is a funny unit-everything comes in waves. Follows distinct patterns. We’ll have a week or two that are utterly unmanageable with patients set-up in spare conference rooms and on stretchers in the hallway (particularly in September and October…those New Year’s babies), and then : poof! Nothing. The calm before the next storm. This was shot during one of those poof!Nothing shifts.

12 hours is a very long time to have nothing to do. Toward the end, you start getting loopy and desperate.
