Life’s funny. I responded to an email from Nokia about testing a music phone (forget that I’m not sure whether I would use a music phone, who says no to free use of a gadget? I love gadgets!) and got the phone promptly enough, but unfortunately for this little AT&T customer the phone was locked to T-Mobile. I sent a request for a code or a SIM card and got an invitation to enjoy some cell phone video fun in Los Angeles…

Nothing says “Summer” quite like a small-town County Fair. This was shot at the Barnstable County Fair in Falmouth, Mass. and is just the first of many fair excursions this year if I get my way. There’s still the local Ulster and Delaware County fairs, and then there’s The Big One (dood! Journey, Heart & Cheap Trick in ONE show?! Boston and Styx in ONE show? All that and corn dogs and kettle corn and sheep shearing AND giant butter and cheese carvings? Awesome.)

Five times a day, you hear the Islamic call to prayer. No matter where you are in Istanbul (on the European side, anyhow) you can hear it. Early (really, really, really, really, really, really early) morning, noonish, late afternoon, just after sunset and then again in the evening. Here are just a few of the wonderful sights and sounds of Istanbul, including The Haigha Sophia, The Blue Mosque and the Bosphorous Sea.

Been here a week in Istanbul and only just today realized the wifi signal was stronger in the garden than it is in our room. Duh.
While visiting the incredibly gaudy, gold-leafed and crystal banistered Dolmabahce Palace we were made to wear shoe condoms so as not to mar the…umm…new carpets that were already protecting the 200 year old parquet flooring. Whatev.
We all looked very goofy.
